Nesting Inspiration

Here are a few beautiful bohemian style interiors that I find very inspiring as I begin the process room by room of designing our space. Some of the aspects of the Bohemian style that most attract me is the sensuality and romance that exudes from it.  In typical fashion for me, have several projects going at once, as inspiration strikes, I act upon it.

Bohemian by definition means that one follows their own path without regard for rules and tradition. To me it is an expression of creativity and letting your own style shine. There are no rules.

 

Mixing pattern and textiles from your travels, books and art collected or gifted, what ever speaks to you. The store bought or the sentimental, placing them in your space in a way that pleases you; your own style will emerge.

 

 

Bright yellow walls are balanced with a midnight sky ceiling. The color palate evokes Morocco or India with this exotic combination of fabrics.

 

 

Neutral backdrops can be nice for those of us who can feel overwhelmed by large expanses of saturated color. There are many ways to bring that color to your space; fabric with pillows and upholstery. Texture can also help add another dimension to a space.

 

 

Plants. Natural light. Warm palate.

Sometimes the kitchen is a fun place to really go bold with color. Stencils on the ceiling and floors, bright unexpected color. Don’t be afraid of experimenting with color.

 

 

Groupings of mirrors and art. Texture both rustic with the brick and soft with the fabric bring romance to this boudoir.

 

 

Bring the contrast of rustic and romantic, modern and antique.
