Our Garden

We wanted to create a magical fairy garden and make our yard beautiful again. Our front yard was taken over by weeds (pictured bellow) and our backyard was destroyed when a tree recently fell in it due to harsh winds. My family and I decided that what we wanted was a mystical, majestic bohemian cottage garden. Knowing it would take a lot of inspiration and labor we set out in hopes our garden would become a bountiful retreat.

We planted lots of different things; herbs like chives, basil, lemon thyme, creeping thyme, oregano, lavender, lemon balm, spearmint and cilantro. We also planted zucchini, pumpkins, yellow tomatoes, cherry and beef steak tomatoes, eggplant, arugula, spinach, mescalin mix, cabbage, red leaf lettuce, green beans, cucumber, cantaloupe,  pole beans, celery, strawberries and raspberries.

Oh, and a mystery gourd. We also wanted out little potager fairy garden to have pretty flowers, so we planted snapdragons, bachelor buttons, pansies, giant sunflowers, foxgloves, creeping flox, geraniums, yellow mini roses, clematis, mixed colors of gladiola and nasturtium. Our black-eyed susans came back as did the iris, tulips, daffodils, flax, columbines, and chysanthimums.

With the rain and fixing our drip and sprinkler system, the garden is doing better than we ever could have dreamed! The tomatoes are chest high and the sunflowers are 8 feet tall! We wanted to garden to feel magical, so we put in some gnomes, fairies and lots of jewels, sparkles, garden art, mushrooms, toadstools and fairy houses.
